Robyn Melanson
Founder and Director
Robyn Hart-Melanson has been the founder and director of Stage One Dance Studio since it's opening in 1990. Her dance background includes over 25 years of experience as a performer, instructor, choreographer and coach. Robyn has studied classical dance (jazz, ballet and tap) at a number of prestigious academies over the years including Fullerton College where she coached and choreographed from 1990 to 1995. Robyn's passion for dance and her innate ability to teach others has been the key to her continued success.
Along with her classical dance training Robyn also has an extensive background in the diversified world of cheerleading and precision dance teams. She was an NFL cheerleader and choreographer for a number of professional dance teams including the Los Angeles Rams Cheerleaders, the San Diego Charger Girls, the Anaheim Splash Mermaids, and the Anaheim Piranha Girls. Robyn has traveled throughout the U.S. as a featured performer in numerous events including the Rio Hotel and the Mirage Super bowls in Las Vegas as well as the world famous sports tradeshow "The Super show" in Atlanta.
She has represented and performed for the NFL in St. Louis Missouri, Honolulu Hawaii and for the AFL (Arena Football League) throughout New York and Canada. Robyn was featured in T.V. commercials for ABC's "Monday Night Live, and was a member of the "Big Show" on Fox Sports Net and Extra Sports 690. Although Robyn has always enjoyed performing, her proudest moments are not those of her own but those of her students. Robyn's creativity and unique choreography have been recognized with numerous Overall and High Point awards including the elite honor of "Star Showcase Choreographer" at the Kids Artistic Revue Nationals.
She has received Top Studio honors, Grand Championships and cash awards as both an instructor and director. Robyn is extremely proud of Stage One's accomplishments, it's amazing staff and the students who make her smile each day. |
